Job Summary
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to work within the inpatient therapy team at Mansfield Community Hospital. The successful applicant will provide high quality, person‑centred care and rehabilitation for a diverse range of inpatients, working closely with specialist clinicians and multidisciplinary partners.

Main Duties
The role requires you to assess, treat and facilitate the discharge of patients with complex needs, while providing evidence‑based therapy and promoting recovery goals. You will also be expected to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contribute to service improvement, and support the education of junior staff and students.
Person Specification – Knowledge
* Sound clinical knowledge of core conditions and applied therapy techniques
* Ability to prioritise work and perform under pressure
* Delegation skills and effective communication (verbal & written)
* IT skills – basic
* Fundamental knowledge of NHS procedures, policies and guidelines
Qualifications – Essential
* BSc (Hons) or Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy or equivalent
* Registration with HCPC
* Membership in a relevant professional body
* Evidence of continued professional development – up to date portfolio
Further Essential
* Attendance at postgraduate courses (modular Masters level) relevant to core specialities
* Training as a clinical supervisor or educator
Experience – Essential
* Experience within the NHS and completion of junior and senior rotational programmes (minimum 18 months each)
* Proficiency in a range of therapeutic approaches
* Experience of service audit and review
* Supervision of other staff and students, and contribution to clinical education
* Ability to travel between Kings Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital
Desirable
* Leadership training or experience
* Driving licence – ability to drive and own a car
Contractual Essentials
* Permanent, full‑time role – Band 6, £38,682 to £46,580 per annum
* Location: Mansfield Community Hospital, Stockwell Gate, Mansfield, NG18 5QJ
* Travel required between Kings Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital
