Burges Salmon is seeking a talented Communications Manager to join our award-winning Marketing team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping how our firm is seen by clients, the media, and the wider market.
About The Role
As Communications Manager, you will:
* Take a lead role in promoting Burges Salmon through strategic external communications and media engagement
* Work closely with the Senior Communications Manager and collaborate with colleagues across Marketing, Business Development, and legal teams
* Drive PR activity across the firm - from identifying press opportunities and drafting releases to managing coverage of client successes, senior lateral hires, and firm-wide initiatives
* Play a key part in crisis communications, awards submissions, and the communication of annual financial results
You will be responsible for
* Leading PR planning and coordination for strategic campaigns, awards, and major firm announcements
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with media contacts and key stakeholders
* Writing and editing press releases, media commentary, and thought-leadership content
* Managing communications around senior lateral hires and annual financial results
* Monitoring media and social channels for proactive and reactive opportunities
* Producing weekly media coverage reports and chair editorial planning meetings
* Supporting the firm's crisis communications and contributing to continuous improvement in our PR approach

* Previous experience in the legal sector or professional services is highly beneficial
