Your mission

As the Junior Electrical Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and testing electrical systems on a variety of autonomous systems.

Responsibilities

* Design and integrate electrical control and electrical systems including motor controllers, batteries, embedded systems, and sensors.
* Develop both low- and high-voltage architectures for rapid prototyping.
* Produce wiring diagrams, schematics, and harnesses using CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks).
* Select and validate components for reliability under extreme operational conditions.
* Collaborate with vendors and manufacturing partners to source and assemble electrical systems for our products.
* Support and participate in regular field testing and demonstrations with defence partners.


Qualifications

* Proven experience in developing electrical systems for complex platforms such as Autonomous Vehicles, robotics, aerospace, or automotive.
* Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience
* Understanding of software and firmware practices and programming languages is a plus.
* Familiarity with high-voltage and high-current architectures.
* Knowledge of EMI/EMC best practices
* Excellent problem-solving ability in high-pressure, resource-constrained environments.
* Strong communication skills and capacity to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
* Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance
* Must be able to travel and stay in the Devon area a minimum of 3 days a week
