Sheltered Retirement Housing Scheme Manager who has previous experience in a customer-facing role within care and/or support work and confidence with basic health and safety procedures, is required to join a well-established housing association based in Stanwell, Surrey. ALL INDUSTRY BACKGROUNDS CONSIDERED You wont necessarily have experience in this sector, as we recognise that transferrable skills and experience are just as valuable. SALARY: Starting from £28,969 per annum Generous Benefits (see below) LOCATION: Stanwell, Surrey (TW19) with travel across Staines, Surrey and Bromley also required (mileage paid) JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week, 9:00 17:00 Monday to Friday Please note: A full Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle is essential JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Sheltered Retirement Housing Scheme Manager who has previous experience in a customer-facing role within care and/or support work and confidence with basic health and safety procedures. Working as the Sheltered Retirement Housing Scheme Manager you will join a friendly team providing a people-centred service to retired and vulnerable residents, supporting the day-to-day running and management of the buildings, apartments and bungalows in the scheme, which make it easier for the users to live independently. As the Sheltered Retirement Housing Scheme Manager you will help keep the service safe, connected and genuinely welcoming for residents. Youll be the familiar face people trust the one who notices when somethings off, listens without judgement, and keeps everything ticking along behind the scenes with quiet confidence. Youll love this job if you Genuinely enjoy working with people and building trust Are organised, self-sufficient and not easily fazed Can spot when someone needs help and act early Stay calm under pressure and take a pragmatic, professional approach Can have honest conversations while staying kind and clear Care deeply about helping older and vulnerable people live well DUTIES Your duties as a Sheltered Retirement Housing Scheme Manager will include: Health & Safety and Fire Checks - Be accountable for Health & Safety and Fire safety checks including comprehensive and clearly auditable records. Effective liaison between internal departments as necessary Safeguarding - Youll know what to look for and take swift, appropriate action when needed, and you will be responsible for regularly monitoring and reporting on the general safety and wellbeing of customers, including signposting, and referring customers to support services where appropriate Partnership Working - Liaising with care providers, GPs, social services, families keeping it all joined up Being the go-to Youll be the first port of call for residents, families, and professionals alike Effective management of the building and estate to ensure effective health and safety management, security and cleanliness of the site. This will include things such as reporting repairs, undertaking fire alarms, conducting pull cord checks and effective recording of this Effectively manage the termination of tenancies and associated liaison with the voids, lettings team and contractors Responsible for customer engagement and consultation, facilitate customers aspirations for social and wellbeing activities, proactively engaging with care, statutory, and voluntary agencies, ensuring the service and site is accessible to all Manage low level ASB cases in accordance with policies and procedures working with the Housing team and provide clear guidance to customers reporting Anti-Social Behaviour Assist customers to claim Housing Benefit and other welfare benefits, to ensure rent arrears are reduced and rent is paid regularly and on time CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS The organisation wants you to bring your knowledge and experience to play your part in improving peoples lives. You wont necessarily have experience in this sector, transferrable skills and experience are recognised and will be just as valuable. Intermediate MS Office skills and willingness to learn new systems Experience in a customer-facing role within care and/or support Proven experience of working with vulnerable people and community groups Confidence with health and safety basics Sound working knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice frameworks Desirable Level 3 in Housing or Supported Housing Health & Safety qualification Knowledge of welfare benefits like Housing Benefit or UC BENEFITS 25 days holiday (Plus Bank Holidays) pro rata increasing up to 28 days pro rata with 3 years of service Up to 8% contributory pension Flexible working Investment in your learning and development A generous annual allowance of up to £300 to use towards health and lifestyle benefits for both you and your family Cycle to Work Scheme whereby employees have access to cycling equipment throughout the year and can pay via monthly salary deductions The organisation recognises that some people will only apply for a role if they meet 100% of role requirements.
