Electrical Apprentice
The Role
To learn and develop the skills needed to support qualified electricians working on the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of electrical systems and equipment in a nuclear environment. Throughout the 4 year Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship, the apprentice will follow technical drawings and Safe Systems of Work to carry out tasks safely and correctly under the guidance of experienced electrical personnel.
Key Objectives
Start your career as an Apprentice Electrician, working alongside qualified electricians and gaining hands on experience.
What you'll do:
* Install LV (Low Voltage) and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems and equipment
* Carry out cable installations including containment, trunking, and cable tray systems
* Perform first fixing works (installing back boxes, containment, cables, and conduit)
* Perform second fixing works (terminating cables, fitting accessories, and final connections)
* Work with different cable types including SWA, MICC, FP200, and singles in containment
* Assist with testing and inspection of installed electrical systems
* Work from electrical schematics, diagrams, and drawings
* Help ensure all work meets safety, regulatory, and legislative requirements
* Keep accurate records and documentation
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Completion of an electrical installation level 2 or equivalent training - Desirable
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including English, Maths, and a science or technical subject - Essential
* CSCS card for the relevant trade - Desirable
* Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent - Relevant training will be provided if required
Experience & Knowledge
* Interest in electrical installation, maintenance, inspection & testing - Essential
* Familiar with practical, hands-on work or workshop activities - Essential
* Awareness of basic health & safety - Essential
* Experience of technical, engineering, or construction environments (work experience or similar) - Desirable

Commissioning Engineer Apprentice
The Role
This is a four year Level 3 Apprenticeship, where you'll work towards the Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician standard while learning how commissioning activities are delivered on real project sites. You'll be supported as you develop practical skills, gain hands-on experience, and help the team make sure our projects are completed safely and to the highest standards of quality, environmental care, security, and contractual requirements.
Key Objectives
Start your career as an Apprentice Commissioning Engineer, working alongside experienced engineers and learning how new equipment and systems are brought safely into operation. You'll gain hands-on, practical experience on site while working towards your Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician qualification through a structured training apprenticeship.
What you'll do:
* Support the team in preparing equipment and systems for testing and commissioning
* Help create and update simple documents such as plans, checklists, and instructions
* Assist with checking equipment is installed correctly before testing begins
* Take part in factory and site testing to make sure equipment works as expected
* Work with suppliers and subcontractors to gather information and review documents
* Help record results, keep documentation up to date, and report any issues to the project team
* Make sure all work follows safety, quality, environmental, and security requirements
* Communicate and work with different teams to help the project run smoothly
