We are currently supporting a reputable organisation in the search for an enthusiastic and committed Project Worker to join their dedicated residential team based in Penicuik. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with learning disabilities and/or autism in a structured, supportive setting.
About the Role:
The service provides residential care to a small number of young people, with a focus on helping them achieve positive outcomes in line with their individual support plans. As a Project Worker, youll play a key role in delivering high-quality, consistent care while working on a rota that includes weekend shifts.
Youll work closely with families, carers, and a multidisciplinary team to promote independence, build trust, and ensure each young person is supported to thrive.

About You:
Were looking for someone who:
Has experience working directly with children and young people, ideally in a residential or care setting.
Has an understanding of the needs of young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
Can respond confidently and calmly to behaviours that challenge, including those of a physical nature.
Understands the importance of structure, timetabling, and consistency in communication and care.
Builds professional, respectful relationships with young people and colleagues.
Qualifications:
You must hold or be willing to work towards a relevant qualification at SCQF Level 7 or above (e.g., SVQ3 in Children and Young People and an HNC in Social Services).
These qualifications are essential for Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration.
Financial assistance or external grants may be available to support training.
