About the role
We’re looking for a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Mid Sussex Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (NMHT), based at Linwood in Haywards Heath.
You’ll be part of a well-established community mental health service with strong MDT working, clear clinical structures and genuine opportunities to influence service development.
This role attracts an enhanced Recruitment & Retention Payment of £45,000, paid over three years, reflecting the importance of this post within the service.
Recruitment & Retention Payment (RRP)
This role includes a £45,000 RRP, structured as:
Pro rata for part-time roles
Relocation support is also available, subject to policy.
Your clinical role
As a Consultant Psychiatrist within the Mid Sussex NMHT, you will:
* Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and evidence‑based treatment
* Act as Responsible Clinician for patients subject to CTOs
* Provide supervision to trainees and MDT colleagues
* Liaise closely with inpatient teams, forensic services and substance misuse services
* Contribute to service development and quality improvement

What we’re looking for
* GMC‑registered Consultant Psychiatrist (or within 6 months of CCT)
* Approved Clinician and Section 12 status (or able to achieve shortly after appointment)
* Commitment to collaborative working, shared leadership and recovery‑focused care
