At the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice and community nursing services across Berkshire West, we care for people living with life-limiting conditions and offer support for families. Hospice care involves providing treatment and support to manage pain and other symptoms, along with emotional, practical, and spiritual support.
About you
We are seeking an experienced Therapy Assistant to join the Sue Ryder Southeast Region team. Your role will support the Therapy staff (Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist) to deliver high-quality, holistic, person-centred care and support to service users to help them reach their full potential. This role involves traveling between our Southeast Region services, primarily based at Berkshire West RG7 4AB, with mileage paid at 45p per mile.
Key responsibilities
* Work with the multidisciplinary team to address cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and functional needs.
* Support service users with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses, including those with specialist palliative or neurological needs.
* Promote and support the individual rights and choices of service users, respecting their beliefs and preferences.
* Report changes in treatment or condition to the appropriate Therapist promptly and follow their guidance.
* Understand the health/social care sector work environment.
* Experience working with people in a care setting is desirable but not essential.
* Be skilled in interacting with diverse individuals.
* Proven experience working within a team is advantageous.
