We are welcoming applications to join our team in Bristol on a term time contract.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in either our Bristol Hengrove depot or Lawrence Hill where you will be predominantly driving daytime College buses, occasionally works shuttle buses and our special event buses, such as our popular Ashton Gate shuttle buses, and shuttles for other large events. There will be opportunity to work overtime between college runs as well as opportunity to drive on our special event days, such as running shuttles for Glastonbury Festival, Bath Racecourse and University Open Days.
Bus driving is a rewarding career. You'll be providing a crucial service that customers value and rely on. Getting to work or school, important doctor's appointments, popping to the shops, heading into town or the journey home. Bus drivers are key workers who keep everyday life moving for local communities.
You'll be out on the road, working on your own initiative. At the same time, you will be part of a close-knit driving team, who look out for each other. Every day brings something different. You'll meet some amazing people along the way.
Join us as a Trainee and you will earn: £14.50 per hour
Join us as an Experienced Driver, and you will earn: £16.00 per hour.
These part time term time posts are permanent. You will work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a term time contract as per below.
1. 3rd September 2024 - 24th October 2024
2. 5th November 2024 - 19th December 2024
3. 7th January 2025 - 14th February 2025
4. 24th February 2025 - 3rd April 2025
5. 22nd April 2025 - 23rd May 2025
6. 2nd June 2025 - 4th July 2025
PCV License Holders
Join us as a qualified driver and receive a £3,000 bonus. This payment is paid in two instalments over 12 months (1st payment after 6 months of service, 2nd payment after 12 months of service). To be eligible for this payment you must not have worked for first bus in the last 12months.
Info for trainees
The minimum age is 18, with at least 6 months' driving experience. Don't worry if you've never driven anything bigger than a car before. We provide top-class training on our modern, automatic buses.
What we are looking for
7. Experienced drivers require a PCV license and up to date CPC
8. All drivers need the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
9. Good communication and customer service skills
If you're a patient, safe driver with good people skills, you're the perfect fit for our driving team
