Registrar-level Clinical Fellow in Stroke/Neurology

We are seeking a highly motivated ST3+ Trust Grade Doctor (SPR Level) to join the UCLH Comprehensive Stroke Service, based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) in Queen Square and UCH on Euston Road, London. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain extensive experience in one of the UK's largest stroke services.
Main Duties of the Job
* Engage in core and specialist stroke roles, including hyperacute and acute stroke units, general and specialist stroke clinics, and the 24/7 mechanical thrombectomy service.
* Participate in pre-hospital video triage and assessment for potential stroke cases in north London.
* Deliver comprehensive care at all stages of stroke management, from pre-hospital to post-hospital, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams such as cardiology, neurosurgery, and haematology.
* Involve in clinical governance activities such as audits, case reviews, and quality improvement projects to enhance stroke care services.
* Participate in teaching programmes, including grand rounds, bedside teaching, tutorials, and weekly protected teaching sessions related to the stroke curriculum.
* Support clinical research at the NIHR-designated hyperacute stroke research centre and contribute to service development initiatives.
* Receive supervision and mentorship similar to stroke SpRs with NTNs and mentor junior doctors and medical students within the stroke service.
* Collaborate with the neurology team at NHNN, gaining experience in specialist neurological clinics and the Neuro-SDEC model.
Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications
* Completion of CMT training or equivalent.
* MRCP or equivalent.
* Experience in Neurology/Stroke and keen interest in pursuing a career in Neurology/Stroke.
* Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practise.
* Knowledge of confidentiality, data protection, Good Clinical Practice, and GDPR.
* Experience working in the NHS.
* Understanding of research methodology.
Experience
* Management of medical or neurology/stroke inpatients.
* Clinical audit.
Skills and Abilities
* Completion of projects, audit, quality improvement and service development related to Neurology/Stroke.
* IT proficiency at advanced user level (Spreadsheet, Word Processing, Database, Email).
Communication
* Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients from a diverse range of backgrounds.
* Excellent written and oral communication with colleagues within a multidisciplinary ethos.
* Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary setting.

Contact and Compensation
Annual salary: £67,325 + London weighting + out‑of‑hours; Fixed term (6 months) – full time.
