Advanced Practioner - Qualified Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention

In this role, you’ll be working in a supportive, fast-paced environment focused on early assessment, safeguarding, and sustainable interventions. You'll split your time between home working and working from the local authority, giving you the flexibility you need to balance your caseload effectively.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for:
* Conducting timely assessments to identify risks and needs
* Intervening early to protect children and support families
* Managing cases under Child in Need, Child Protection, and Pre-proceedings frameworks
* Working collaboratively with professionals across education, health, and policing
* Ensuring every child’s voice is heard and at the heart of your decision-making
This is a high-impact role where you’ll be making crucial decisions that shape outcomes and ensure child safety from day one.
What You’ll Need
We’re looking for someone who is:
* A Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
* Experienced in statutory children's services, ideally in Assessment, CIN, or CP teams
* Confident in applying legislation, thresholds, and safeguarding procedures
* A strong communicator who thrives in a multi-agency environment
* Resilient, emotionally intelligent, and driven to achieve positive outcomes
* Minimum 4 years post-qualified experience in frontline social work
In This Role, You Will:
* Complete high-quality assessments under tight timescales
* Identify and implement the most effective safeguarding interventions
* Develop and review detailed, child-focused care plans
* Contribute to child protection conferences, legal planning, and strategy discussions
* Provide support to less experienced staff and social work students
* Help reduce risk and promote long-term stability for children and their families
