Duties of Assistant Accountant
* Take full responsibility for processing supplier invoices and matching them to POs
* Work closely with internal teams to resolve any queries
* Prepare and process regular supplier payment runs
* Build positive relationships with suppliers and ensure everything is up to date
* Carry out daily and monthly bank reconciliations for several accounts
* Post and allocate transactions correctly
* Manage company credit cards
* Prepare monthly management accounts for a smaller group entity
* Post journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Reconcile key profit and loss and balance sheet accounts
* Submit accurate monthly reporting to the Financial Controller
* Maintain key balance sheet reconciliations (fixed assets, VAT, payroll, accruals, intercompany)
* Provide occasional cover for credit control – sending invoices and chasing outstanding payments
* Assist with year‑end audit work and preparation of supporting schedules
* Help document and improve finance processes and controls

Essential
* Solid experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
* Good knowledge of purchase ledger and reconciliations
* Confident Excel skills

* Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
