Located in the vibrant and historic city of Norwich, the practice enjoys the best of both worlds — city living and countryside calm. Just a five-minute drive from the city centre, fifteen minutes from the peaceful Norfolk Broads, and half an hour from the coast. Norwich itself is full of character, with a beautiful cathedral, stunning architecture, and an impressive mix of independent shops, eateries, and green spaces.
You’ll join a fantastic team of seven vets, including five experienced clinicians and two new graduates. Many of the vets have special interests in orthopaedics, surgery, and imaging. You’ll also be supported by eight dedicated nurses, a knowledgeable team of veterinary care assistants, and a strong administrative support group. The practice is purpose-built and equipped with everything you need to thrive clinically and professionally. They offer 15-minute vaccination appointments and 30-minute clinical consultations. The orthopaedic kits are fully stocked, and we regularly hold clinical meetings. They also prioritise wellbeing in the workplace, with mental health first aiders on-site and BVA’s Good Veterinary Workplace Guide fully implemented. As an RCVS PSS-accredited Small Animal GP practice, we are proud to maintain a professional, progressive, and supportive environment.
They are looking for a qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the RCVS, ideally with at least two years of experience in small animal practice. A surgical bias or specialism would be especially welcome, but is not essential. This is a full-time role across four days (9am to 7pm, 39 hours per week), although they’re open to discussing part-time options for the right candidate. Participation in the weekend rota is essential, which includes one in five weekends - Saturdays from 9am to 6pm and Sundays from 10:30am to 4:30pm. There are no out-of-hours requirements, and bank holidays are shared on a rotating basis.
In return, they are offering a competitive salary of up to £60,000, depending on experience and working hours. You’ll benefit from a generous CPD allowance, with additional funding for certificates if desired. Holiday entitlement starts at 5.6 weeks, rising to 6.6 weeks after two years, and they offer an extra paid day off for your birthday. You’ll also receive a contributory pension, paid RCVS and VDS memberships, and in-house career development opportunities. They can provide visa sponsorship and may support relocation costs if needed.
