Salary: £49,758.80 - £54,418.00
Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: To manage the effective running of the five Highland
Council School Residences that are registered as Highland Council School Care Accommodation. To foster and maintain a nurturing environment in which the physical, emotional, social and educational needs of the young people are paramount. To act as the Registered Manager for the Highland Council School Care Accommodation
units. To support and be accountable for the practice of staff within the units in their work with young people, their families and carers. To evaluate and improve the service
in accordance with standards set by Care Inspectorate and work within set policies, procedures and guidelines.

Requirements
This position is classified as a regulated role. As such, an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required depending on your nationality and recent residency history. Specifically, this check will be necessary if you do not meet both of the following criteria:

* You must be a national of the United Kingdom or one of the following countries: Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Greece, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, or Poland.
\n
* You must not have lived or worked in any country outside of the UK or those listed above for a period of three months or more, while aged 18 years or over, within the past five years.
\n
\n
Please note that it is your responsibility to obtain the Overseas Criminal Record Check, and you will be required to cover any associated costs.
\n
The post requires a relevant qualification that is recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council, the main national practice award being SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People ) at SCQF Level 9 or equivalent plus a management qualification SVQ4 Leadership and Management of Care Services (LMCS) at SCQF Level 10 or any award in management that is certified at or above SCQF level 8 (minimum of 60 credits) showing evidence the award has been mapped against the National Occupational Standards (NOS) : Leadership and Management for Care Services. Candidates should hold all or part of the above qualifications or evidence a proven ability to achieve the level of training required for SSSC registration as a Manager of a School Residence.
