 
        
        Principal OHL Engineer (Energy)
Join WSP to lead the design, delivery and technical governance of Overhead Line (OHL) Engineering across the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities
 * Communicate company goals and technical standards to OHL engineering teams.
 * Develop, approve and audit design documentation and technical procedures for OHL projects.
 * Solve engineering challenges through technical leadership and collaboration with clients, contractors and developers.
 * Supervise OHL design phases from concept through detailed design, ensuring quality, safety and environmental standards.
 * Create engineering estimates and coordinate business development activities.
 * Approve engineering designs and cost estimates for submission to the client and project sponsors.
 * Delegate tasks and supervise staff training.
 * Perform quality control checks on all OHL designs, systems and products.
 * Approve recognition and reward of good work.
 * Maintain client relationships and direct technical leadership on design, health and safety, quality and environmental issues.
 * Report to the OHL Director on technical services, client relationships and team performance.
Qualifications
 * Demonstrable experience in OHL design, including use of OHL design packages such as PLS-CADD, Tower & Pole or similar.
 * Awareness of TNO and DNO requirements, and ENA and BSI standards.
 * Formal degree in engineering or equivalent.
 * Experience in preparing design risk assessments and CDM compliance.
