Glasgow Life is a charity like no other. Our vision is to improve the lives of everyone in our city. To help us achieve that, we are looking for a Retail Assistant to join our Retail teams at Gallery of Modern Art/ Riverside Museum/Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

What you need to know



Who can apply: This vacancy is open to both internal and external applications.

Hours: Working hours will be Saturday and Sunday weekend cover 10.45am – 5.15pm (3 posts) and a mix of weekday/weekend cover on 5hr shifts over 4 days (2 posts).

Contract type:

* Permanent

Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time role we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £13.89 per hour.



Location: We’ll confirm your main base at interview, but once in post you may be asked to work in any of our shops across the city where there is an operational requirement.



What you’ll do

As a retail assistant you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Shop Manager. You’ll play an essential role in providing excellent customer service to maximise sales on the sales floor and at the cash desk, processing our customer transactions at the cash desk. Your work will make a visible and lasting difference. This will be

* Creating cultural experiences
* Working behind the scenes to make it all happen

· Good communication skills with an ability to work as part of a team.

· Evidence of Retail Experience and cash handling processes.

· Proven Customer Service Experience

· Excellent numeracy skills

· Flexible to changing work hours with an ability to work Saturday/ Sunday
