Your new role
As Regional Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial decision‑making across major capital delivery projects and operational performance within Scotland and the North. You will act as a trusted advisor to project teams by providing high‑quality financial insight, translatingplex information into strategic guidance, and ensuring that financial plans remain aligned with organisational objectives. Your role will involve developing regional budgets and forecasts, performing detailed variance analysis, and presenting meaningful financial reporting and dashboards to senior stakeholders. You will be responsible for building and maintaining financial models that evaluate project economics, investment returns and cost‑optimisation opportunities, while also conducting sensitivity analysis to support informed decision‑making. A key part of your remit will be managing financial risk across capital delivery programmes, identifying emerging issues, ensuringpliance with regulatory requirements and working closely with stakeholders to implement effective mitigation strategies. You may also deputise for the Regional Head of Finance when required, giving you the chance to contribute at an even more strategic level.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will be a fully qualified finance professional (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), You will have demonstrable experience in finance business partnering or programme‑focused financial analysis, with the ability to connect long‑term strategy to financial performance. Success will depend on your ability tomunicateplex financial information with clarity, adapting your style to suit both financial and non‑financial audiences while influencing senior stakeholders effectively. You will need strongmercial awareness, a sound understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling, and ideally some exposure to Capex reporting. This organisation operates at pace, so adaptability, sound judgement, and the ability to managepeting priorities will be essential, alongside strong proficiency in financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
