Milk Education is seeking passionate and dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to work a Maternity Cover for a Secondary School in Chester Le Street. This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire pupils through engaging Science lessons, support learners of varying abilities, and create a calm, structured classroom environment where students can build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Location-Chester Le Street
Hours -8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Secondary Science Teacher Requirements
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
2. Experience teaching Science in a secondary school KS3–KS4
3. Excellent classroom management and communication skills
4. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
5. A proactive, professional attitude with a commitment to inclusive education
6. Ability to provide two recent references
Secondary Science Teacher Key Responsibilities
7. Deliver engaging, pre-planned Science lessons across KS3–KS5
8. Create and maintain a positive, structured learning environment
9. Support pupils’ progress and confidence in Mathematics
10. Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
11. Maintain high standards of behaviour management
12. Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure continuity of Maths learning
13. Provide feedback on pupil progress where required
