About The Role

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our factory maintenance across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join our team, based at our site in Scropton, Derbyshire.
The role is factory and workshop based, so you’ll be working in a fast‑paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical. As a Multi‑Skilled Engineer you’ll be working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern 05:00 – 17:00.
What will you be doing as a Multi‑Skilled Engineer at Avara?
As a Multi‑Skilled Engineer, you will be a key player in ensuring the consistent smooth running of factory machinery including planned maintenance and reactive repairs, along with continually looking for ways to improve future processes.
Key responsibilities as a Multi‑Skilled Engineer include:
* Ensuring maintenance is carried out in line with the schedule and effective and efficient corrective action is taken.
* A quick and effective response to breakdowns, where possible identifying root cause and suggesting improvements.
* Communicating unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager.
* Demonstrating good problem solving techniques for mechanical and electrical issues.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
* A relevant engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications (BTEC & NVQ L3, HND, Degree, etc).
* Manufacturing Engineering experience, ideally within food manufacturing.
* A familiarity with processing machinery and the ability to fault find.
* An electrical bias with sound mechanical knowledge.
