Overview
Reporting Associate role at Robert Walters, Glasgow. Contract: 12 months. Location: Glasgow. This role sits within a global Tax department and offers collaboration across locations with opportunities for professional development and flexible working arrangements.
What you'll do
* Prepare detailed tax returns and supporting work papers for multiple legal entities across diverse business lines, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
* Perform reconciliations at account and company levels to support regulatory sign-off processes using appropriate tools.
* Draft precise Tax Notices to accompany tax return submissions, maintaining meticulous documentation.
* Collect data and prepare estimates and tax extension calculations to support U.S. Federal, State, and Local tax returns for the organisation’s legal entities.
* Undertake ad-hoc tasks related to filing and documentation for tax returns, adapting to evolving departmental needs.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the New York Tax department to align on global tax matters.
* Prepare tax accounting calculations and work papers in accordance with ASC 740 requirements.
* Collect and analyse large datasets, perform validation controls on internal systems data to ensure data integrity for reporting.
* Learn and implement standardized processes to enhance efficiency within the Tax function and participate in process improvement initiatives.
What you bring
* A degree or equivalent qualification in finance or accountancy is preferred.
* Familiarity with US GAAP or US Tax Regulations is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is valued.
* Strong critical thinking and ability to self-review work before submission.
* Excellent organisation and time-management skills to prioritise workload and communicate progress clearly.
* Self-motivated with a drive to develop professionally within a team environment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems for daily responsibilities.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure without compromising quality.
* Experience collaborating with colleagues across different locations, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
