Join us as a Component Engineering Manager at our Advanced Manufacturing Centre in Ulverston, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing the production of precision-engineered components for our industry-leading subsea connector products. You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring health and safety standards are met while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Imagine driving continuous improvement initiatives and enhancing our machining and moulding capabilities, all while supporting the needs of our Production and Product Development teams. Your leadership will be pivotal in promoting operational efficiencies and maintaining our high-value equipment, ensuring we meet the evolving demands of our industry.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. You will ensure ongoing health and safety oversight in alignment with the Start Safe initiative, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
2. You will conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance appraisals to support team development and foster a collaborative culture.
3. You will develop and implement training and succession planning strategies to enhance team capabilities and future-proof our workforce.
4. You will drive enhancements in functional capabilities by exploring technology improvements and upgrading equipment to meet evolving needs.
5. You will manage and improve work pipeline planning processes, standardizing approaches to enhance efficiency and productivity.
What You Bring
6. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
7. You have proven experience in a managerial role within an engineering environment.
8. You possess a strong understanding of subtractive manufacturing processes (CAD/CAM/CNC) and/or moulding processes (compression/injection/RTV/LSR).
9. You can interpret detailed component part drawings and are familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
10. You have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement.
