Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality support to children and young people in a residential care setting.
* Assist with daily living activities, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all residents.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues, creating a supportive and nurturing environment.
* Implement individual care plans, monitor progress, and adjust plans to meet evolving resident needs.
* Encourage participation in social and recreational activities to support personal development and community involvement.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
* Participate in team meetings, contributing to the development of best practices and care strategies.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals within the residential environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Experience: 3–5 years within a similar environment
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent (or willingness to work towards it)
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to build rapport with young people, families, and colleagues
* Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
* Empathy: Genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs and backgrounds
* Organisational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
* Safeguarding Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety regulations, and commitment to keeping young people safe
* Flexibility: Adaptability to meet changing circumstances and individual resident needs
* Enhanced DBS: Must hold an Enhanced DBS check (update service preferred)
