Role Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a day-shift engineering team responsible for ensuring high equipment availability across CNC machining, production assets, and aerospace manufacturing facilities. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibility, driving reliability, safety, and continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership & Supervision

Lead and coordinate a team of maintenance engineers and technicians on day shift.
*
Prioritise daily workload, allocate tasks, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
*
Provide technical oversight and act as the escalation point for complex equipment issues.
*
Ensure all maintenance activities meet aerospace safety, compliance, and quality standards.
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
*
Oversee maintenance and repairs on CNC machinery, production equipment, and facility systems.
*
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults to minimise downtime.
*
Manage and develop the preventative maintenance strategy, ensuring schedules are executed effectively.
*
Support the development of equipment and technology roadmaps to improve reliability and capability.
Continuous Improvement & Performance
*
Use maintenance data, KPIs, and reliability metrics to drive improvements across the site.
*
Identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance, reduce unplanned downtime, and optimise maintenance processes.
*
Champion best practices aligned with aerospace quality, precision, and safety expectations.
Contractor & Project Management
*
Coordinate external contractors for specialist repairs, upgrades, and commissioning.
*
Ensure all third-party activities are risk-assessed and comply with aerospace facility standards.

Support engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
*
Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance engineering.
*
Previous experience in aerospace, precision engineering, or advanced manufacturing.
*
Hands-on experience with CNC machinery (Fanuc and/or Siemens control systems highly desirable).
*
Understanding of PLCs, control systems, and automated equipment.
*
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve diverse technical issues across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
*
Experience guiding or supervising technicians/engineers, or clear readiness to step into a leadership role.
Desirable
*
Recognised engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Apprenticeship or equivalent).
*
Experience with reliability-centred maintenance, TPM, or lean manufacturing principles.
*
Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
