ALS Wakefield is seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Analyst (Grade 1) to join our dynamic Organics department. No previous lab experience? No problem — full training will be provided. About The Position Shift: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (with flexi-time available once trained) Salary: £24,242 Location: Ossett, Wakefield Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term, Full-Time The day to day Analysing samples using a range of GC, GCMS, and LCMS techniques Recording accurate results in line with quality standards and laboratory procedures Ensuring compliance with UKAS accreditation and internal quality systems Supporting colleagues to meet daily performance targets Participating in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis (following screening) Maintaining a safe and organised work environment The Essentials A passion for science and a strong willingness to learn 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Science, Maths and English, plus an A-Level (or equivalent) in a Scientific subject Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic IT competency A proactive, client-focused attitude Our benefits include: Annual Leave commencing at 25 days (rising to 30) plus 8 public holidays (pro rata for part time) Ability to Buy annual leave.
