Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming secondary school in Cwmbran supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The Role
As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
* Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
* Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support where required
* Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive engagement
* Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
* Build strong relationships with students, staff and parents
* Assist with preparing classroom resources and learning materials
* Encourage confidence, independence and participation in lessons
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for individuals who are:
* Passionate about working with young people in education
* Empathetic, patient and supportive in challenging situations
* Confident working within a fast-paced secondary school environment
* Reliable, adaptable and committed to making a difference
* Experienced in SEN support or interested in developing SEN experience
Requirements
* Right to work in the UK (Passport or Birth Certificate)
* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – mandatory in Wales
* Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
