The role
The holder is the Electrical Authorised person in the region and is accountable for health and safety in their area of work.
What you'll be doing
1. Serve as the focal point for electrical safety expertise across their region, acting as a technical specialist for electrical maintenance works within commercial buildings.
2. Carry out Authorised Persons (AP) duties across their geographic area.
3. Support the development and implementation of electrical safety procedures as part of the broader health and safety strategy.
4. Maintain and issue electrical safety documentation within their area of responsibility.
5. Locate and rectify a wide range of electrical faults, understanding the cause and risk to asset condition and investment, and plan future mitigation to protect assets and customer experience.
6. Organise and execute LV switching, isolations, earthing, and identification of points of work in line with electrical safety procedures.
7. Provide expert electrical expertise within a modern building services environment.
8. Support and contribute to delivering comprehensive electrical safety training, including assessments and auditing of roles within the electrical safety procedures.
9. Report to the Duty Holder to advise on responsibilities and recommendations from an electrical safety and strategic perspective.
10. Maintain electrical assets within plant rooms, and domestic and commercial installations.
11. Assist in mobilising new and refurbished properties regarding electrical specifications.
12. Support transformational change projects by providing technical support and advice throughout.
What we're looking for in you
1. Relevant engineering qualification, electrically qualified within HNC/HND, ONC, OND, NVQ Level 4.
2. Registration with a professional body such as IET is advantageous.
3. Management/supervisory experience and relevant post-experience.
4. Qualifications in LV AP operations - Electrically Authorised Person.
5. C&G 2391 or equivalent qualification (testing and inspection).
6. Latest edition of BS7671 qualification.
7. Technical competence and qualification to operate and make safe electrical equipment, systems, or installations.
8. Confident, self-motivated, and a good role model.
9. Strong leadership qualities, coaching colleagues, providing feedback, and motivating performance.
10. Experience with L2 fire safety systems is desirable.
