Trademark Paralegal – London (up to £43,000)
Our client, a leading and highly respected intellectual property law firm, is seeking an experienced Trademark Paralegal to join their London office. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior fee earners within a fast-paced, collaborative and high-performing Trade Marks practice.
The Opportunity
As a key member of the Trade Marks team, you will provide high-level, proactive support to two primary fee earners, with flexibility to assist others and the wider support team as needed. You will play an essential role in delivering an exceptional client experience—working efficiently, accurately and independently, while contributing to a dynamic and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Mark & Design Formalities
* Processing, checking and reporting on all stages of trade mark applications.
* Preparing and filing UK, EU, International and foreign national trade marks and designs.
* Preparing and filing opposition notices, extensions of time and other opposition-related formalities.
* Preparing responses to official objections or provisional refusals.
* Preparing and filing all varieties of recordal forms.
Portfolio & Client Management
* Attending to client queries regarding trade mark and design portfolios.
* Assisting with the management of large portfolios and recordal projects.
* Gathering exhibits for witness statements as required.
* Handling post, preparing reporting letters/emails, and responding to incoming enquiries.
* Identifying urgent matters and taking initiative to follow up, escalate or assist fee earners.
Deadline & Diary Management
* Monitoring team and individual fee earner diaries to ensure deadlines are tracked and met.
* Entering, managing and checking deadlines; diarising reminders; organising calendars and meetings; sending client reminders.
Billing & Administration
* Preparing cost estimates and handling billing processes.
* Checking estimates, assisting with accounts queries, and complying with client-specific billing procedures.
General Responsibilities
* Ensuring safe, confidential, and compliant handling of all data and records.
* Monitoring and managing any allocated budget to support effective activity tracking.
* Maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers and advisers.
* Contributing positively and proactively to the firm’s culture and values.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Solid experience working as a Trademark Paralegal, supporting partners and fee earners in a Trade Marks team.
* CITMA Paralegal qualification (completed).
* Strong working knowledge of UKIPO, EUIPO and international trade mark procedures.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
* Strong research, organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work confidently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
