About the Role: You will work closely with students who require additional support with emotional regulation, engagement, and behaviour. You will assist in maintaining a calm and structured learning environment and help pupils develop positive coping strategies. Key Responsibilities: Learning Support: Provide focused assistance to students with SEMH needs, helping them access the curriculum successfully. Student Engagement: Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage participation and emotional growth. Individual Support: Offer one-to-one or small group interventions tailored to specific needs. Classroom Organisation: Support teachers in creating a safe, inclusive, and structured environment. Team Collaboration: Work alongside pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external professionals. To succeed as an SEMH TA, you will need: Experience supporting young people with SEMH or behaviour-related needs. Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. A nurturing, child-centred approach. Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
