We are currently looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist - Upstream to join us at Wavin. If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.
Reporting to the Marketing Director – BU Northern Europe, the Marketing Communications Specialist - Upstream will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing an integrated Upstream Marketing Communications plan in line with business objectives and strategic direction, delivering maximum brand recognition for Wavin and its brands.
This role focuses on a clearly defined group of upstream stakeholders, specifiers and decision makers. The purpose of this role is to market the specified use of Orbia B&I’s (Wavin) products through a solution and value-added approach. It also supports the upstream sales of Wavin UK’s entire portfolio with particular emphasis on developing the key strategic growth areas for the business (Indoor Climate Solutions and Urban Climate Resilience) and strengthening brand awareness with key specification audiences.
The delivery of a specification driven approach is a core strategic element of the Company’s plan moving forward, toward realising its ambitious growth targets.
The focus of specifications will be with defined product ranges across the entire product portfolio and the specific customer base such as Structural and Civil Engineers, Mechanical & Electrical Consultants, Architects, Investors, Developers, Public Health Consultants, Local Authorities, Industry & Government Bodies.
The role
 1. Recommend, plan and deliver an integrated upstream marketing communications strategy that enhances and projects Wavin’s premium brand image and purpose creating a strong ‘pull’ orientated strategy
 2. Develop, implement, measure and report on marketing activities, delivering measurable projects and campaigns on time, within budget and to a consistently high quality
 3. Drive growth of strategic segments ICS and UCR working closely with product managers and sales team.
 4. Build and communicate different value-added propositions, focussing on Wavin’s competencies in all relevant markets and sectors
 5. Maintain a digital understanding that embraces current best-practice communication techniques, channels and devices, and liaise with the digital team to ensure full integration of campaign on and offline
 6. Liaise with the Head of Marketing to ensure a cohesive and coordinated annual communications plan is in place across all Wavin communications activity
 7. Ensure all upstream marketing campaigns are measurable and feed into downstream activities in liaison with the wider marketing team and Head of Marketing
 8. Create strategies to enhance the Wavin brand and reputation through PR and thought-leadership initiatives.
 9. Drive CRM engagement to support marketing lead conversion
 10. Devise innovative strategies and campaigns to support the sales team delivering demonstrable differentiation versus our competitors and add value to the P&L
 11. Determine relevant industry events and partners and work with the events and trade marketing coordinator to develop event plans and provide creative input on design
 12. Drive partnerships with key organisational trade institutes such as Institute of Civil Engineers and CIWEM
 13. Proactively develop reference cases, collateral, e-learning, CPD, and sales support materials in partnership with the Sales and Product Management teams
 14. Work with the digital team to develop relevant content for social media, websites, landing pages and online campaigns
 15. Activate group campaigns and contribute to campaign development where the UK and Ireland are determined as a lead country
 16. Work with Trade Marketing Executive to develop and execute campaigns for the ICS and UCR downstream product offering
 17. Position Wavin Specification Managers as trusted advisors for investors, developers, specifiers, architects and partners engaging earlier in the project value chain to shape client vision in the market. Support them with thought leadership and promotion of integrated solutions
The profile
 18. Experience of working within the construction or building product sector
 19. Experience of marketing to specifier audiences related to the constructor sector including engineers, tier one construction companies, architects, planners and developers
 20. Experience of working with technical products, solutions or services
 21. Experience of working closely with Sales teams to grow sales opportunities
 22. Experience of working in large and complex matrix organisations
 23. Proven success in launching new products and stimulating growth in products throughout their life cycle
 24. Proven success in the development and management of strategic marketing campaigns
 25. Self-starter, who takes full ownership of projects, and who is assertive and challenging of others to ensure targets and deadlines are met
 26. Creative thinker with proven multi-channel campaign experience
 27. Driven and self-reliant, with evidence of managing multiple projects with a variety of stakeholders with measurable results
 28. Strong knowledge of all on-line and offline communications channels and the ability to bring new technologies and best practices into the role
 29. Analytical, with the ability to interpret information, news, data and research quickly – and distil the most important and relevant information to inform unique and innovative new content and creation ideas
