Overview
Band 2 to 3 progressive Senior Health Care Support Worker (SHCSW) role within the Surgical Unit at Lymington Hospital, Romsey and Hythe (UHS NHS) Trust.
Based in the Theatre Suite and the Surgical Outpatient Department, you will support the theatre team, surgeons, and anaesthetists during peri‑operative patient care and provide nursing support in the Surgical Day Ward and in clinics across Lymington, Romsey, and Hythe.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the theatre team, surgeons, and anaesthetists during the peri‑operative period.
* Provide nursing care in the Surgical Day Ward (admissions, care, discharge).
* Assist clinicians in clinics and undertake basic screening observations (e.g., urine analysis, bladder scanning).
* Provide assistance during minor procedures.
* Run clinics from the Hythe, Romsey and Lymington sites.
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Flexible approach and ability to work independently.
* Experience preferred – training will be provided.

Employment Details
Full‑time post – 37.5 hours per week. Part‑time hours may be discussed at interview. Shifts and potential weekend service availability are discussed during the interview and/or informal visit.
