Job Description:
* Job Title: Senior/Principal Platform Systems Mechanical Engineer
* Location: Barrow-in-Furness. This position will require full-time on-site presence.
* What you’ll be doing:
o Developing the package of design evidence required to justify a safe, effective design and generate customer confidence in the design solution.
o Specifying and assisting in the build of prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing.
o Providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues.
o Ensuring that commitments are agreed, reviewed, and met.
o Mentoring junior engineers regarding technical matters.
o Making presentations effectively to technical and management audiences and within this, be able to identify and keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.
o Author/co-author technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations as required.
* Your skills and experiences:
o Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Mechanical or Science Subjects.
o Ability to produce design documentation and present these to customers and wider groups.
o Ability to solve complex engineering calculations.
o Experience with Engineering Lifecycle processes.
o Proficiency in CAD, MS Office, and comfort with other IT applications.

The T&C Engineering Support team:
As part of the team, you will be involved in planning and reactive support to ensure engineering aspects of testing and commissioning activities are undertaken safely and appropriately, maintaining design intent.
