Temporary Industrial Placement – Product Designer
Are you passionate about product design and eager to gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic environment? We have an exciting industrial placement opportunity within our Design Department, where you’ll work on real projects that are both challenging and relevant to your studies.
As a placement student, your role will reflect that of a full‑time Product Designer. You’ll be involved in meaningful work that helps develop and test a broad range of skills drawn from your university knowledge.
You’ll become a vital member of our team, working closely with CAD Designers and our Styling Liaison. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into the Styling Process, from initial sketch through to final CAD, and contribute to the design of a wide variety of components across all areas of the bike.

Product Design Student responsibilities include:
* Create high‑quality CAD models using PTC Creo and develop aesthetic proposals for new motorcycle components.
* Collaborate with stylists and design teams, ensuring flexibility across multiple projects.
* Apply manufacturing constraints and champion styling development, quality, and best practices.
* Drive right‑first‑time designs through continuous review and cross‑functional collaboration.
* Support vehicle teams with design tasks and assist on projects as required.
* Undertake additional duties as directed by the Manager.
Product Design student Requirements for role:
* Studying for a relevant design related degree, and looking for a student placement in 2026 /27
* Maths and English GCSE grade C / 4 or above
* Proficient in Microsoft packages.
* Aptitude for CAD and Engineering
* Ability to learn and apply new skills, be pragmatic and take a practical approach to technical problem solving.
* Self‑motivated, resilient, flexible and have the ability to make sensible, logical decisions.
