Our Restructuring& Insolvency Service team are looking for an experienced SeniorExecutive to join their established team in Manchester. You willwork alongside a diverse and experienced group where your personaldevelopment is at the forefront of our culture. While the role isbased in our Manchester office, you may also have the opportunityto work with our Insolvency Practitioners in other regions as weoperate as a national practice across all areas of restructuring,by embracing a hybrid working model.
Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to be a key member of a teamresponsible for a portfolio of corporate insolvency engagementswith a particular focus on Administrations (“ADMs”) but also onoccasion Creditors' Voluntary Liquidations ("CVLs"). You willbe proactive in progressing those cases in conjunction with thecase manager and officeholders.
Job Role
The role will involve the following main activities andresponsibilities (working within a team which comprises on eachcase, the appointed IP, case manager plus others on largercases):
* Being the principal contactwithin delegated areas of work on assigned cases and dealing withday-to-day case related matters.
* Carry outduties efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with relevantlegal and statutory obligations and the firm'sprocedures.
* Contribute to case progression andmanaging own work stream, agreeing priorities with manager, andkeeping the team informed of developments.
* Preparing statutory notices, assisting with reportwriting and meeting deadlines.
* Assisting withthe preparation of fee estimates, proposals and decision proceduresto seek appropriate creditor approval.
* Assisting in the preparation of additional reports to keystakeholders.
* Assisting with areas ofinvestigation work to meet the requirements of SIP2 and CDDA andcontributing to reports for submission to the InsolvencyService.
* Assisting in maintaining the receiptsand payments account, preparing vouchers for the cashier team toupdate the case cashbook.
* Assisting in thepreparation of VAT returns, as required.
* Attending meetings, documenting discussion at meetingsfor the case file, including action points to follow up.
* Contributing to the case strategy and preparing filenotes to document key decision-making in case strategy
* Preparing case reviews in line with the firm's policy,highlighting action points to be followed up.
* Liaising with specialist tax teams as required andassisting with VAT, PAYE and CT compliance.
* Ensuring each case checklist and diary are kept up todate
* Dealing with creditor queries andcorrespondence, logging claims received
* Assisting with compliance regarding companyrecords
* Assisting with progressing assetrealisations, including liaising with agents and solicitors; andupdating control schedules
* Assisting with themarketing process when a business is offered forsale
PersonSpecification
* Musthave experience of corporate insolvency work.
* Must have experience of using IPS and Microsoft Officeprogrammes (or equivalent).
* CPI or ACAqualification (preferred but not essential).
* Has knowledge of the statutory requirementsAdministrations and also have an understanding of insolventliquidations.
* Has a good working knowledge ofinsolvency legislation and an awareness of relevant current caselaw.
* Able to prepare estimated outcomestatements, including a Prescribed Part calculation, whererelevant.
* Able to maintain control schedulesfor recording progression with e.g. ROT claims, debtorcollections.
* Has experience of producingstatutory reports in insolvency cases
* Able towork well in a team and to work effectively under time pressure tomeet strict deadlines.
* Possesses strongorganisational and time management skills.
* Able to work with a high degree of accuracy and attentionto detail.
* Able to identify case-relatedissues, to independently research and suggest options toresolve.
* Keen to develop self andothers.
