Highways Operatives – South Molton
Our clients are looking for Highways Operatives to join their hardworking dedicated team in South Molton.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.
* Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
* Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the day to day tasks set.
* Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
* Where appropriate, provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.
Essential Skills:
* Driving License ideally clean, some points accepted.
* A commitment to Health and Safety.
* Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
* Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
* CSCS Card.
Desirable Skills:
* Highways experience.
* HGV licence.
* New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) not essential.
* Operative Accreditation Lantra 12D not essential.
Rate of Pay:
* £12.25 – £13.50 per hour depending upon experience.
* Overtime at 150% after 40 hours.
* These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from:
o Accrued Holiday Pay from day one.
o Pension contributions (after a qualifying period).
o Weekly Pay.
o No Umbrella payments or fees.
o Only Tax and National Insurance deductions, which will be shown on your payslip.
