This exciting opportunity is open to existing practitioners and those with Groundworks experience looking to move into the construction training sector.
The Construction Tutor is responsible for delivering a variety of CITB-accredited Civil Engineering modules and other sector-relevant courses (covering Groundworks/Rail experience) to both employed and unemployed individuals. The successful candidate will proactively engage with learners on-site, in our skills academies, or online to ensure a successful learner journey and timely completion. They will also, where necessary, support the Profiling & Desk Based Training Teams. The role is based in Leicester and will require travel and overnight stays, with all expenses covered.
Full training will be provided if required, to ensure the candidate has all relevant teaching, assessing, and occupational competence.

The main duties and responsibilities include:
1. Carrying out training and assessment using various methods for qualifications at levels 2-3, ensuring successful achievement in line with contractual requirements.
2. Delivering training modules at employer premises to groups and individual learners.
3. Collaborating with employers to plan delivery durations.
4. Uploading and tracking all learning through e-portfolio OneFile to evidence progress at all times.
5. Visiting workplace learners and delivering teaching & learning aligned with qualification requirements.
6. Producing monthly progress reports for your caseload.
7. Participating in standardisation activities as scheduled or required.
8. Taking responsibility for safeguarding and promoting learner welfare.
9. Completing all relevant funding documentation and administrative tasks to ensure compliance.
10. Adhering to Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirements, ensuring fair assessment access for all learners.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and qualities:
* Experience within the construction sector is essential.
* Experience of training and assessing in construction, or willingness to learn.
* Some familiarity with using an e-portfolio.
* Experience of teaching/training in a workplace environment with groups.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to follow processes.
* Enthusiasm and a positive attitude in the workplace.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
* A full UK driving licence and own car, with willingness to travel.
The following qualifications are desirable or required:
* A valid teaching qualification at least PTLLS.
* Recognised NVQ Assessor Qualification (e.g., A1, D32, D33, TAQA).
* A Level 2 qualification in the relevant sectors of delivery.
* Maths and English qualifications at Level 2 or above.
