Associate/Senior Associate - Construction
Michelmores is a law firm that helps enterprises and individuals navigate change. We are recruiting an experienced Associate or Senior Associate for our Construction team, focusing primarily on non‑contentious work.
Responsibilities
In this role you will:
* Review and advise on contract terms proposed to clients.
* Draft and negotiate contracts, appointments and ancillary documents.
* Interact with clients and other advisors via meetings and Teams calls.
* Manage high‑value, fast‑paced cases across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, health, education, commercial and consumer brands.
* Work alongside Partners and Managing Associates as a safe pair of hands for day‑to‑day file running.
Qualifications
We are looking for an ambitious lawyer with proven construction matters experience. The ideal candidate will have:
* Between 3–6 years’ post‑qualified experience in Construction and Engineering practice.
* Evidence of advising and acting on a range of construction matters matching the client and work types described.
* Extensive drafting and negotiating experience across contract families (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, IChemE, Energy contracts including EPCs, O&Ms, bespoke appointments and ancillary documents).
* A genuine interest in promoting business‑development opportunities.
* Strong interpersonal, commercial, organisational and self‑motivated skills.
