We are a leading Mechanical and Electrical company specialising in large-scale projects across residential and commercial sectors. With a reputation for delivering high-quality work on time and within budget, we are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with expertise in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all aspects of quantity surveying for M&E projects from inception to completion.
* Produce monthly interim valuations.
* Produce contract forecast reports for internal commercial reporting ensuring information is complete and accurate, including development of contract revenue and cash flow forecast.
* Ensure effective interaction between the commercial team and the operational site teams.
* Oversee and mentor junior quantity surveyors, providing technical guidance and professional development.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for M&E projects.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective project execution.
* Monitor project progress, assess cost performance, and identify potential cost overruns.
* Conduct value engineering exercises to optimise project budgets and schedules.
* Handle procurement processes, including preparation of tender documentation and analysis of contractor bids.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and contractual requirements.
* Review and manage change orders, claims, and variations to ensure project costs are controlled.
Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of M&E systems and components, as well as the construction process.
* Excellent understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration in M&E projects.
* Proficiency in using industry-standard software.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
