Summary of Role:
Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Director of Recreation and Facilities, the Camp, Arts and Kids Club Program Manager is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating a variety of recreation programs including before and after school Kids Club, youth camps, arts, and ceramics. In addition to program responsibilities, the Program Manager for Camp, Arts, and Kids Club shall perform duties in personnel supervision, budgeting, marketing, purchasing and customer relations as they relate to the Program Manager's specific areas of responsibility. Additional duties may be assigned by the Director of Recreation and Facilities.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
B.S. degree in Recreation and Park Administration or related field from an accredited college or university, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A minimum of five years of full-time program supervisory experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Personnel Management
* Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise part-time, seasonal, and program instructors; evaluate performance through site visits.
* Conduct regular in-service training and volunteer indoctrination.
* Schedule and lead staff meetings; apply personnel policies consistently.
* Supervise personnel through direct observation and review of written and oral communication.
Programs
* Develop, promote, organize, and supervise before/after school programs, arts programs, and camps.
* Update parent manuals and maintain awareness of changes by relevant organizations.
* Coordinate bus transportation with the school district and manage program schedules effectively.
* Conduct parent orientations for camps; gather community input for program development.
* Recommend program adjustments based on community needs; assist in special events and program promotion.
* Ensure timely submission of accurate brochure copy; manage program information and facility reservations.
Finance
* Prepare, justify, and manage annual and capital budgets for assigned areas.
* Maintain comprehensive records of program supply purchases and contractor
payments.
Records and Reports
* Manage personnel records and prepare reports as required.
* Approve payroll and process bi-weekly on TimeClock Plus.
* Prepare reports on program needs, accomplishments, and incident reports.
* Maintain complete program supply records and inventories; submit long-range plans for program development.
* Monitor programming trends and introduce new programs as needed.
* Prepare accident and incident reports for review.
Safety and Loss Control Responsibilities
* Review and summarize health, safety, and incident reports.
* Ensure compliance with safety, health, and loss control policies and procedures.
* Provide necessary training and documentation regarding district policies to personnel.
