Job Summary

You’ll help us deliver operational excellence to our customers across our Civil, Defence, and Engines business lines at our East Cowes manufacturing plants. Established in 1901, our East Cowes site on the Isle of Wight employs around 800 people. Our facilities design, manufacture, test, and repair high-performance structures and systems for the aerospace market, serving clients like Airbus, Boeing, Rolls Royce, and others.
Due to growth, we are seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers specializing in Product and Planning to join our team on the Isle of Wight. Based at our East Cowes site and reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager, you will work across Civil and Defence business lines, providing engineering proficiency to operational and development programs, ensuring zero defect projects, and delivering robust manufacturing processes.
You should be flexible for limited ad-hoc travel, both nationally and internationally. We offer relocation support within the UK to successful applicants.
Job Responsibilities:
* Exemplify a safety-first mindset and ensure compliance with GKN Aerospace policies.
* Develop manufacturing process solutions to complex problems.
* Implement production planning from concept to production, utilizing the Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite.
* Manage product development, first article development, configuration changes, and build process definitions.
* Develop technical solutions within GKN Aerospace, our customers, and suppliers.
* Provide technical support for manufacturing process development and integration.
* Use root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce non-conformances.
* Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers and colleagues.
* Continuously improve production processes through Lean initiatives.
* Apply APQP tools for problem solving.
Qualifications and Skills:
* HNC qualification or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
* Experience in Manufacturing Engineering within a composites manufacturing environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of quality systems like ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
* Background in Aerospace industry.
* Experience in Project/Program Management.
* Familiarity with APQP processes or equivalent.
* Understanding of ERP systems.
* Green Belt Certification.
This position requires UK National Security Vetting (UKNSV) Security clearance (SC). Applicants typically need to have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years.
