Job Title: Cabinet Support Officer

Pay: £22.83 per hour PAYE
We are seeking a driven, ambitious, and politically astute Cabinet Support Officer to join the Leader’s Office in a dynamic London Local Authority. This pivotal role supports the Leader of the Council, Cabinet, The Chief Executive, and the Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide policy, research, and administrative support to Cabinet Members to help them deliver their priorities.
* Manage various policy areas, including social care, education, town centres, and supporting families with the cost of living.
* Build strong relationships across the organization, collaborating with service departments, senior leaders, and external stakeholders.
* Manage Cabinet Members' inboxes and diaries, handle casework, emails, and meetings efficiently.
* Conduct research, draft briefings, and summarise information for Cabinet Members.
* Coordinate Cabinet Member meetings, including agenda planning, minute-taking, action logging, and venue arrangements.
Skills and Experience:
* Experience providing high-quality briefing, diary management, and administrative support to senior stakeholders.
* Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Experience in minute-taking and action tracking.
* Excellent judgment, political awareness, and discretion.
* Ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Knowledge of local government structures and policies.
* Highly organized with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Stakeholders include:
Leader of the Council, Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team, Cabinet Members, Mayor’s Office, Senior Managers, Business Support Staff, Communications and Policy Staff, Members of the Public, External Organisations, Community Leaders, and Community Groups.
