We have an exciting role for a Site Inspector to be based near Perth in Scotland working on a major infrastructure project (A9 Dualling - Tay Crossing to Ballinluig) as part of the Employers Supervision team.
Candidates can start with BPSS security clearance whilst higher level clearance is being undertaken. You should be British Citizens and passport holders and not have worked outside the UK during the past 5 years.
Job role
To ensure that construction activities on site are carried out in accordance with approved designs, contracts scope, quality plan and health & safety regulations. The Site Inspector plays a key role in monitoring contractor performance, identifying non-conformances, defects and supporting the delivery of high-profile infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Monitoring & Inspection
Conduct regular inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with contract scope, contractor design and quality plans.
Monitor workmanship, materials and equipment used on site.
Identify and report defects, non-conformances and unsafe practices.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed site records including daily diaries, inspection reports, and photographic evidence.
Assist in preparing progress reports and quality assurance documentation.
Reporting to NEC Supervisor defects or non-conformances.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure contractors adhere to health and safety regulations and site-specific risk assessments.
Report incidents, near misses, and environmental breaches promptly.
Participate in site audits and toolbox talks.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with contractors, designers, and client representatives to resolve site issues.
Attend site meetings and contribute to technical discussions.
Support coordination of utility works, traffic management, and third-party interfaces.
Qualifications & Experience:
HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Proven experience in site inspection or supervision on major infrastructure projects.
Working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and CDM Regulations.
CSCS card and relevant safety training (e.g., SMSTS, First Aid) preferred.
