Clinical Nurse Manager – St Johns Dermatology in 79 Wimpole Street
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Clinical Nurse Manager to join our St John’s Dermatology service at 79 Wimpole Street.
As Band 7 Clinical Nurse Manager, you’ll provide clinical and operational leadership—ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. You will manage daily operations, coordinate safe staffing levels, and foster a supportive, professional team culture.

As a Clinical Nurse Manager, you will act as a professional role model for junior staff, providing clinical leadership and supporting the day-to-day running of the unit. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care within the clinical area, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and skills.
In 79 Wimpole Street, you will play a key role, with the support of the Head of Nursing in establishing a new team. You will be delivering advanced dermatological procedures using the latest technologies in a modern, private outpatient facility.
This role also presents a unique opportunity to work within the dermatological surgery & laser unit (DSLU) in Guy’s Hospital to gain valuable experience and enhance skillset in a highly specialised dermatology setting.

This is a full time post within the St Johns Dermatology service in 79 Wimpole Street providing different types of skin surgical treatments including MOHs micrographic surgery. The main emphasis of work is on an early detection and treatment of different types of skin cancer. The Unit also runs a variety of Nurse-led clinics.
You should have an essential experience in theatres/surgical procedures and wound care. You must be able to demonstrate good decision making and leadership abilities as well as excellent communication skills.
The post holder will work collaboratively with Consultants and Lab scientists providing support, care and education to patients with non-melanoma skin cancers as well as patients requiring surgical interventions with various skin diseases.
You will have an essential experience in theatres/surgical procedures and wound care. You must to be able to demonstrate good decision making and leadership abilities as well as excellent communication skills. You will also be expected to undertake managerial duties to support the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for:
1. Supporting clinic lists - assisting in mohs and minor surgery, manage nurse led lists
2. Management duties - review and ensure safe staffing levels through eRoster system, review clinics on a weekly basis to improve service. Taking stock of consumables and medication.
3. Providing leadership and innovation – supporting junior staff
4. Perform in compliance with the protocols and policies, peer review and clinical governance

12. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist care delivered to patients/clients and give relevant advice/information to patients and relatives

16. Post registration qualification in or demonstrate relevant experience (Dermatology) and competence in assisting surgeries and post operative wound care.
