Senior HR Advisor (Part-Time - Backshift & Weekend) Manufacturing Environment | 20 Hours per Week We're working with a fast-paced manufacturing business who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior HR Advisor to support their backshift and weekend operations. This is a genuinely hands-on, operational HR role, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the business, dealing with complex people matters, and operating with a high level of autonomy. While the scope of the role is that of a classic Senior HR Advisor, the working pattern makes this a unique opportunity for someone who needs flexibility during the day and prefers working evenings. Working Pattern You'll work 20 hours per week, structured as: Monday: 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm Tuesday to Thursday: 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm Weekend: 4 hours (as agreed) The Role You'll act as the senior HR presence on shift, providing expert, pragmatic support to managers and employees across a wide range of people matters. Responsibilities will include: Leading on complex employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability Providing expert guidance on absence management, occupational health referrals and return-to-work processes Supporting recruitment activity on shift, including campaign support, screening, interviews and onboarding Supporting and advising managers through disciplinary hearings and complex people decisions Managing and improving core HR processes including probation reviews and exit interviews Representing HR in operational and strategic meetings with senior managers Reviewing and updating job descriptions and supporting organisational structure changes Providing strategic advice on recruitment, retention and engagement Monitoring and analysing HR metrics such as turnover, engagement and retention Leading updates to HR policies and ensuring compliance with current employment legislation Championing employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives Contributing to wider HR improvement projects across the business About You You'll be an experienced, confident HR professional who is comfortable working independently and making sound decisions in a fast-moving operational environment. You'll ideally bring: CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) Proven experience in a Senior HR Advisor or similar HR advisory role Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice Significant experience handling complex employee relations cases Excellent communication and relationship-building skills A pragmatic, calm and solutions-focused approach Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities Confidence working autonomously and being the senior HR presence on shift Good IT skills, including HR systems and Microsoft Office High resilience and a continuous improvement mindset Why This Role?
