Overview
Applications are invited for the role of Director of Breast Screening for North Lancashire and South Cumbria Breast Screening Service.
The North Lancashire and South Cumbria Breast Screening Service, as part of the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, operates Breast Screening and Symptomatic services from dedicated imaging units at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Furness General Hospital and Westmorland General Hospital. In addition, we operate two mobile units in the community. The service is supported by a dedicated team and a robust digital infrastructure, including a PACS system, and collaborates with the UHMB Breast Multidisciplinary Team (Surgical, Histopathology, Breast Care Nurses and Oncology services).
The Programme Director for Breast Screening has overall accountability for the safe and effective provision of the breast screening service, from the identification of the eligible screening cohort to the point of diagnosis as commissioned by NHS England.
Responsibilities
* Have responsibility for the leadership, management, performance, quality, governance and coordination of the service
* Provide leadership and a behavioural role model for provision of compassionate care within the breast screening service

* Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow
* Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI)
* Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal
* Community health premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre
