He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role
* Manage terminal-based staff, planning and day‑to‑day container terminal functions
* Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full operational compliance
* Drive On‑Time Performance and consistently deliver for our customers
* Lead, coach, and develop terminal staff, supporting their performance and training
* Influence positive outcomes, solve operational challenges, and keep the terminal running smoothly
* Bring clear decision‑making, strong relationship‑building skills, and an understanding of what it takes to meet service commitments in a fast‑paced freight environment
* Work Monday-Friday day shift, with an on-call component supporting 24/7 operations

* Strong leadership skills and ability to build high performing teams
* Sound experience in a unionised environment is preferred
* Exceptional problem solving and organising abilities to achieve high-end productivity results
* Proficient computer skills with experience using a range of customised software packages
* Proven ability to drive Health, safety and wellbeing and the ability to grow and shape our 'safety leaders'
* A strong customer focus with stakeholder relationship building skills
* Experience in freight or transport
* A full, clean drivers Licence with Class 2 and F endorsement is preferred
