Job Title: Behaviour Support Staff Location: Sheffield (S2, S3) Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience) Start Date: Immediately/January 2026 Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Are you someone who can motivate, guide, and encourage students to make positive choices and develop healthy behaviours? GSL Education are seeking Behaviour Support Staff to work within schools within Sheffield, covering the S2 and S3 area, to provide consistent and practical support to learners requiring additional behavioural guidance. As Behaviour Support Staff, you will work with students to encourage positive behaviour, support emotional regulation, and foster a calm, respectful learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Support students with behavioural, social, and emotional needs. Implement behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques. Work one-to-one or in small groups to build confidence, resilience, and self-control. De-escalate challenging situations in a calm and professional manner. Liaise with staff, parents, and external professionals to support individual needs. Maintain accurate records of behaviour interventions and student progress. Contribute to a structured, safe, and supportive school environment. Requirements of Behaviour Support Staff: Previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally within an educational or support setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain patient, calm, and composed in challenging situations. A proactive and flexible approach to behaviour management. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A responsible and professional approach to safeguarding and student welfare.
