Description
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the streaming team at ITV Network News, directing and overseeing the production of distinctive and innovative content on ITVX, YouTube, and other streaming platforms.
The Head of Streaming will commission, develop, and deliver live and pre-recorded programming, working with the team to tell stories in fresh and engaging ways. They will also be involved in developing strategy and innovating to reach new audiences in this fast-changing sector.
They will work closely with the Head of Content and the TV Output and Digital leads to maximize ITV Network News’ multi-platform approach. Collaboration with other departments, such as News gathering, Graphics, and Studios, will be essential to ensure a joined-up approach across the newsroom.
The successful candidate will join the Executive team and contribute to the organizational direction of ITV Network News.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure our streaming content is engaging and relevant to viewers.
* Identify distinctive content for ITVX and YouTube and work to deliver it.
* Oversee live programming and special content on ITVX, YouTube, and other streaming platforms.
* Contribute ideas for coverage, treatments, and live programming.
* Oversee daily decision-making by content editors.
* Work on strategic direction of streaming with the Head of Content.
* Help grow our audience on new and evolving streaming platforms.
* Collaborate with ITV regions on their ITVX and YouTube content and strategy.
* Work with ITV on developing live programming and other innovations.
* Manage the Streaming team within ITV Network News.
* Troubleshoot day-to-day streaming and staffing issues.
* Actively promote diversity within the Streaming team.
* Attend and contribute to regular Executive team meetings.
* Perform regular duty editing across all platforms.
* Maintain high standards of journalism and production quality.
* Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
* Promote diversity of voices on streaming platforms.
* Collaborate with Technology, Graphics, and Studios to improve streaming operations.
* Coordinate with Administration and Finance for smooth team operations.
