Offer description

To provide an effective and efficient administrative service to patients, visitors and staff at Llandudno Community Hospital, that reflects a high standard of customer care, as well as ensuring the safe collection and deposit of hospital income and other duties required of the hospital cashier in accordance with agreed procedures.


Main duties of the job

Provide a general enquiries service for the main hospital, attending the enquiries hatch and dealing with members of the public, patients and staff in an efficient and professional manner. Frequently deal with people who are distressed or with a challenging behaviour in an efficient, sympathetic and professional manner.

Responsible for issuing cash to members of the public claiming travelling expenses, ensuring that the correct forms are completed and a signature is received and that records are accurate in accordance with the financial procedures.

Reimburse staff for expenditure from petty cash in accordance with the financial procedures.

Input requisitions for stock and non-stock items for hospital wards and departments into the Oracle System, ensuring that they are cost coded correctly, keeping paper records on file and dealing with any queries relating to general requisitions and orders.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* GCSE'S C and above in English and Maths or equivalent experience.
* NVQ Level 3 in Administration or equivalent experience.
* IT qualification or equivalent level of experience using Microsoft packages
* ECDL


Experience

* Experience of dealing with money on a daily basis.
* Dealing with large amounts of cash, balancing accounts and banking.
* Experience of clerical/admin functions and working in a busy office environment.
* Dealing with the public both face to face and telephone.
* Working in a hospital environment


Knowledge

* Knowledge of cashier duties, balancing accounts and banking procedures


Personal Qualities

* Sympathetic manner


Skills

* Organisations skills


Other relevant requirements

* Flexibility - duties/hours from time to time
