Electronics Engineer – Spider is advertising on behalf of our client who is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their team to support their development and productions teams. This is a full-time, permanent role based at their headquarters near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

About the role:
As an Electronics Engineer you will support the development and production teams and perform maintenance of electronic systems used across the company’s product range. The role will involve working closely with mechanical, software, and applications teams to deliver robust, reliable, and manufacturable electronic solutions for laboratory instrumentation.
This is a hands‑on role combining design, problem‑solving, and practical engineering and batch testing within a regulated, safety‑critical environment.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
* Build and test prototypes and production electronics, including batch testing and fault‑finding/root‑cause analysis.
* Support verification and validation activities, including EMC, safety testing, and compliance with CE, UKCA, EMC and Low Voltage Directive.
* Support transition from prototype to production, working with manufacturing, suppliers, and production technicians to resolve issues and document processes.
* Provide technical support for production, servicing, and field issues, contributing to continuous improvement and resolving obsolescence.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation (schematics, BOMs, test procedures) and follow internal quality and design control procedures.
About you:
As an Electronics Engineer, you will have a degree (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, with experience designing and troubleshooting circuits and working with microcontroller‑based systems and be familiar with embedded systems and communication protocols (I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, RS485). You will be practical, methodical, and proactive, able to balance development and production support, work across disciplines, and explain technical issues clearly. Experience with PCB design tools, embedded systems, and knowledge of EMC, ESD, and electrical safety is desirable.
Working hours are 40 hours p/w 9am - 5 :30pm, Monday to Friday.
A full UK driving license and access to own vehicle is required due to their location.
Candidates must be eligible to, and hold all relevant finalised paperwork to live and work in the UK.
