Responsibilities
We are keen to speak to qualified (or nearing) chartered or incorporated engineers who are passionate about delivering high-quality design solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, designs, scheme drawings and calculations; preparation of contract documents and specifications. The role will also include project planning, management and monitoring, and liaising with clients and contractors. A working knowledge of the DMRB, LTN1/20 and other current design standards is essential and use of design software including Civils 3D and/or MX is desirable.
* Providing a consistent high level technical design service;
* Providing support, training and guidance to other staff;
* Effective client liaison and communication;
* Reporting to the Highways Director;
* Liaising with other discipline team leaders to ensure technical integration; and
* Financial and commercial management
Experience of working in a highway design office is essential.
Qualifications
Applicants should be:
* Self-motivated and enthusiastic;
* Have proven experience of working with Local Authorities;
* Experienced in active travel, local road project design;
* Capable of operating with minimal supervision; and
* Seeking increasing level of responsibility.
